Los Angeles School Bus Accidents are on the Rise

WALNUT - Los Angeles school bus accidents are on the rise. The CHP is investigating a school bus v. pedestrian accident that occurred back on 10-26-07 involving a school bus that ran over a woman, killing her in front of small children at an elementary school.

The bus accident took place in front of C. J. Morris Elementary School located at the 19800 block of Calle Baja, Walnut, California. The first reported of the school bus accident took place at 2:46 p.m.

The bus was said to have lost control, jumping over a curb, breaking through a chain-link fence and coming to rest at a concrete parking area. The out of control bus is said to have crashed into many others as well, including some small children.

The driver of the Walnut Valley Unified School District bus #31, was not available for questioning. The school closed down for several hours.

Los Angeles County fire department, sheriff's official and the California Highway Patrol are still investigating.
