Bus Crash Victim Listed in Critical Condition After Surgery

July 25, 2010-According to reports the widow of Greyhound crash victim Tomas Ponce listed in critical condition after surgery.

Sinforosa Arreola age 77 and victim of the Highway 99 Greyhound bus crash has been listed in critical condition according to spokeswoman Mary Lisa Russell of Community Regional Medical Center. Arreola was the wife of Tomas Ponce that was killed in the Greyhound crash.

Arreola fractured both arms and legs, along with broken ribs, underwent surgery late Thursday, according to family members to remove blood that had collected in her lungs from her injuries. Tomas Ponce, Arreola’s husband was transported to Community Regional Medical Center after the crash where he died. The bus crash also took the life of fellow passenger Epifania Solis age 60 and the Greyhound bus driver identified as James Charles Jewett.

According to Russell, spokesperson for Community Regional Medical Center Arreola’s medical condition has worsened and she has been listed in critical condition.

The Greyhound bus accident occurred shortly after 2:00 a.m. when the Greyhound bus struck and overturned Trailblazer SUV and then struck a Honda CR-V prior to striking the concrete medium and a tree, killing six people and injuring as many as twenty.
